Hello you beautiful creatures!

I am Sister Helena Bottom Harder, Mistress of Novices for the Abbey of the Alamo, Leather Drag Nun of San Antonio, and recently crowned as a Royal in the Court of San Antonio Pride.

While my story did not start here in the city that I now call home, it certainly has been exciting. To give you a brief history, I joined the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in Wichita, Kansas and am one of the founding members of the Emerald City Sister, Abbey of the Sacred Ruby Slippers in 2018. 

Life brought me and my husband to San Antonio in the Summer of 2019, where I quickly joined the Abbey of the Alamo. While most my early days with the sisters here was spent in lockdown, I entered a time of sabbatical for work responsibilities.

But now I am back, and I am here to make a positive impact on our community by sharing smiles with everyone I meet through my ministry, activism, and advocacy. You can always find me at the Eagle SA building frith with my brothers of the San Antonio Leathermen. Community outreach, education, and everything that is weird is what fuels my work as a Sister. Fun Facts –

  1. I can juggle a lot of different things… but I can actually juggle balls… like a clown (get your mind out of the gutter)
  2. I enjoy creating art through painting and leather working
  3. My favorite creatures in the world are my two dogs… in fact I like them more than my husband
