GLBT community service has been a long vocation since losing my partner back in 1996 to AIDS.  Just about every pride event or community event I attended across the country, I have run into a Sister. I was for some reason always drawn to them.  Learning more and more each time of their work and their individual callings, I hoped one day to find my calling.  Well that day came in 2011 when I ran into some Sister’s in San Antonio, Tx.  We got to talking and they were interested in starting a mission here, I knew my calling had come. Little did I know how the Calling of Sister Ministry would re-shape my understanding of community service. I get to incorporate all those wonderful aspects of my community into a single manifestation, have fun, and help out so many members of my community that are looking for their own forte.
